This "WEEB Grant Database" portion of the website is under construction.  Please bear with us while we continue to update the database and its search capabilities in order to meet as  many needs as possible. This page provides:

We have attempted to display as much data in as small a browser window as possible. Thus, browsers that use "Cascading Style Sheets" will offer the user the best display. For information on how to use this new database system please see the table below.

[Note: To return to the "Grant Program" portion of the WEEB website (e.g. for application information, reporting forms, etc.), please use the "Home" link to the left and then the "Grant Program" link.]

The Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) was created by 1989 Act 299, becoming law in 1990. The databases accessible through the links to the left contain
summary information of proposals submitted after 1996 and summary information from all funded proposals.

Funded projects have included state-wide initiatives as well as small localized efforts. Audiences served include K-12 public and private school children, members of various youth organizations, classroom teachers and other educators, landowners, park patrons, tourists, and of course the public. The search function to the left can assist you in narrowing the database to proposals that meet criteria you specify.

Scrollable text files originally found on the Department of Public Instruction  server are available by grant year. When the WEEB was transferred to the University of Wisconsin System in 1997, this system was no longer kept up and therefore is unavailable for later years. Please use the database above for information about grants awarded after 1996.

PRINT COPIES of previously funded grant proposals, which include the narrative component of the proposal, can be obtained from the local library through the Wisconsin Interlibrary Loan System. Each volume contains photocopies of the complete proposal  for funded grants in a given year, beginning in 1990.  Request each volume by its call number: ED.1/2:E 58/ 2/ XXXX (XXXX = year). The author and title are "Wisconsin Environmental Education Board Grant Recipients." Delays during peak grant-writing season may be expected, as there are only five sets of the early volumes and fifteen sets of documents from 1997 and after. Libraries where volumes are found include: Fond du Lac Public Library, La Crosse Public Library, Milwaukee Public Library, Racine Public Library, Superior Public Library, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Green Bay, UW-Platville, UW-River Falls, and  UW-Stevens Point
